When it comes to spyware you want something that will get the job done.
I’ve tested many programs, free and paid that neglect to solve the problem when it comes to a slow computer or a changed homepage.
The key is to not waste your time with programs that sort of work and get right to the source.
For me, the best freeware program that picks up and detects spyware is SuperAntiSpyware. This program is fantastic, I have been using it for a number of years.
Firstly, even though it’s a free program, there are updates provided just about every day – no slacking on their part.
Secondly, it has several great options. You can perform a complete scan, a quick scan, or a custom scan. I personally use the quick scan most of the time because it targets the most common places that spyware tend to attack. Once a week or so I will run a complete scan just to make sure everything’s good.
They do have a paid option for the program which gives you real time protection as well as the ability to schedule scanning’s. This is useful, but in my opinion not necessary unless you have a few extra bucks you want to spend.
Overall, SuperAntiSpyware is one of the best freeware spyware removal programs I have tried to date.
